flats, rollers & hills/10 mph/38 & 48 miles/elevation 2,333 ft & 2,877

Meet 8:30 am in front of the Castro Valley Bart Station for a 9:00 start. The hills are front and back end loaded with flats and rollers in between. We will climb Redwood Rd to the Marciel Staging Area then down a curvy swooping wooded downhill to a right turn onto Pinehurst. As you ride thru the beautiful scenic terrain, you’ll be reminded that one who lives in the Bay Area won’t have to travel far to find redwoods in our backyard. Pinehurst exit’s into the town of Moraga. There is an option to ride into Lafayette on a dedicated bike path pass Saint Mary’s College or stay on the road if the traffic is light. The flat part of the route travels thru Danville, San Ramon and Dublin. Taking the West Dublin Bart back to the start is the short option (38 miles). For a longer route, we will continue with a climb up the Dublin Grade back to Castro Valley Bart. 

If the hills got the best of you, Lafayette Bart is at the 21 mile mark (just sayin…)

Bring water, snack, money for a lunch stop and Bart.
