This Rating system is designed to help riders decide if a ride fits their level of fitness and riding experience. It also is designed so that ride leaders may evaluate and grade their rides. Ride leaders must be fair in rating their rides and must ride at the pace that they submit.
Riders should not show up for a ride that they are not capable of doing, at the advertised pace. Note: The average speed for a ride includes time off of the bike at rest stops or for regrouping. So an “L” ride should finish a 30-mile ride in about 3 hours, including stops. All rides are “No Drop” which means we will not leave riders behind, or that we will wait ahead and regroup, for every rider. (Unless a ride is listed as a non “no drop” ride)
A rider may ride faster than the advertised pace but he/she should realize that they will spend more time waiting to re-group. Show up and be ready to ride, at the listed ride time. Rides leave no later than 10 minutes after the listed starting time. Cherry City Cyclist Bike Club realizes the importance of wearing a bike helmet and strongly encourages all riders to wear a helmet.
