SUMMARY:Marin Headlands and Sausalito
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, August 16th\nMarin Headlands and Sausalito.\nApprox 35 miles; 3500 feet climbing.\nMeet at 10:15 am at San Francisco Ferry Building in the back by the closed Slanted Door restaurant.  Best to arrive early\, so we’ll have time to sign our Ride Waiver form. Ride rolls at 10:30 am.  Starting from the Ferry Building\, we will ride up the Embarcadero\, through the Marina\, up to the GG Bridge then up Cozumel – to the some of the best views of the bridge and San Francisco.  Then we can enjoy the long\, steep one-way descent to Point Bonita and back through the tunnel to get to Sausalito – where we will stop for food\, etc.  Then we climb back to the GG Bridge\, through the Presidio to GG Park\, down Page Street to Market Street and the Civic Center Bart Station.   \nThis route has some challenging climbs – but you can skip Cozumel and go straight down to Sausalito (and wait there for the rest to show up).  That will give you only one big climb: to get back up to the GG Bridge.   \nThe ride will be canceled if there 90 plus degree weather or a 30% or greater chance of rain for Saturday. Check Friday evening from this Weather Underground link: https://www.wunderground.com/hourly/us/ca/sausalito. Check for the hours between 11am and 4pm. Bring water\, food and money.  And you should be prepared for windy/foggy weather as well as possibly sunny intervals. \nRide Leader: Steven Yoder 510-394-8684 or by email: steve@zlcsoftware.com \nHere is a link to the route on RIDE WITH GPS: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51978466 \n
