SUMMARY:Redwood Road to Moraga and Back
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, July 16th\nHills in the ride: 2500 ft elevation\, 10-15 mph\, approx. 33 miles \nMeet in front of Castro Valley BART at 10:15 AM and ride at 10:30 AM.  We will go out Redwood Road\, then right on Pinehurst\, then right on Canyon into Moraga – where we can stop at the brewery or the park restrooms – then return back along the same route.  This whole ride is great rural scenic cycling roads with little traffic. \nThere is an initial long climb up Redwood for about 1.5 miles\, then a great descent then another climb up Pinehurst and another great descent.  The ride back has less climbing (because Moraga is at a higher altitude than Castro Valley).  If you took BART to the start\, then you have the option of continuing on to Lafayette BART instead of returning – it is almost all downhill to Lafayette from Moraga. \nThis is an Out-And-Back from CV to Moraga via Redwood Road.  Great cycling roads the whole way. There is a bail option to go on to Orinda BART if you took BART to the start\, and you don’t want to do the climbs back to CV. \nMake sure to bring a helmet\, carry a nutritional bar\, bring a bottle of water and $ for food. \nRide Leader: Steven Yoder  510 394-8684 — email: steve@zlcsoftware.comBring a helmet\, carry a nutritional bar\, bring a bottle of water and $ for food. \n  \nMore Details
