SUMMARY:A Day in Sebastopol Train Excursion
DESCRIPTION:moderate terrain/10-14 mph/2 options/elevation 229 or 1\,136\nGet out your Clipper Card for a Sunday play day. We’ll be heading to the Barlow for the Head West Market in Sebastopol. \nWe hop on the Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit Train (SMART) to Rohnert Park. Making our way onto the Joe Robata bike path will take us to the Barlow. This is a boutique area with coffee\, music\, merchants\, crafters\, designers\, artists\, breweries\, tasting rooms and restaurants. You might even consider bringing a backpack. Plan to spend time walking your bike around the complex\, enjoy the afternoon and go with the flow. If you have a time constraint\, this may not be the ride for you. On our return\, we’ll take the Santa Rosa Creek bike path as part of our route back to the train station. The plan is to take the 3:55 or 6:13 pm train back to the Larkspur start. There are earlier times before 3:55 but this does not give you enough you time to enjoy the area relaxed. Feel free to split from the group\, a route will be provided but you will be on your own. \nOptions: \n1- \nApprox 30 miles meet 9:00 am in front of Johnny’s Donuts at the Marin Country Mart 2257 Larkspur Landing Circle\, Larkspur. Elevation 579 \nOr \n2- \n45 miles. This includes the 30 mile Barlow loop. Meet 8:00 in front of 201 Tewksbury Ave\, Richmond (previously Aky’s Cafe). Parking is available on Blanding and Clement Ave. We are going to ride with some steep hills above Solano ave to Gayley Rd which is on the edge of UC Berkeley. Elevation Gain of 968 ft so there will be climbing than my past routes up Solano ave. We’ll be riding near BART at West Oakland if you interested in riding but not as far. If so contact me so we can make arrangements to meet you.
