SUMMARY:Skyline Loop
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, February 7th\nClimb up to Skyline to enjoy the panoramic bay views and return along the Bay Trail.\n2500 ft climbing; approx 40 miles.\nMeet at 10:15 am at Shaka Shack in Alameda – by the Park Street bridge\, close to Fruitvale BART.  Best to arrive early\, so we’ll have time to sign our Ride Waiver form. Ride rolls at 10:30 am.  We start with flat then gentle inclines\, increasing the difficulty as we go to Montclair then up Burdick/Butters as one of the better ways to get up to Skyline.  Then rollers heading North until we get to Sibley water stop and Grizzly Peak Blvd.  More views and a last climb up and over Grizzly Peak.  Then lots of descending through the hills and down the foodie avenue of Solano.  Then along the bay trails and Emeryville\, where we can do a food stop.  Finally we ride through the Port of Oakland and over to Jack London Square – take the free ferry to Alameda\, back to the starting point. \nCCC members can go to https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53850917 for the route map and to download onto your phone (or devices) for turn-by-turn audio navigation. \nThe ride will be canceled if there is 90 plus degree weather or a 30% or greater chance of rain for Saturday. Check Friday evening from this Weather Underground link: https://www.wunderground.com/hourly/us/ca/orinda. Check for the hours between 11am and 3pm. Bring water\, food and money. \nRide Leader: Steven Yoder 510-394-8684 or by email: steve@zlcsoftware.com

SUMMARY:Baylands Trail+ Dumbarton Bridge
DESCRIPTION:flat/10-14 mph/approx 38 miles/elevation 341 ft\nNote: this ride was scheduled for Feb 21 but has now moved up to Feb 14 (Valentine’s Day). \nMeet 10:00 a.m. at The Don Edwards Visitor Center parking lot. Join me for a nice flat casual Saturday ride. We’ll cycle clockwise from Newark to Milpitas with 2 stops: 1 Oz Coffee in Santa Clara and Baylands Golf Links along the trail for lunch. The Baylands Trail is dominantly on packed gravel. Doable on a road bike but even better with a gravel & mountain bike. We will cycle thru a marshland nature preserve\, popular for bird watching and a multi-use path. The path connects us with a return over the Dumbarton Bridge back to the start. \nYou may sign the waiver ahead of time on cherrycitycyclists.com from the menu under “Rides”\, “Ride Waiver Form”. \nBe sure to plug in the correct date. \nThis ride is cancelled if there is more than 30% of rain in the forecast or if there are wet roads throughout the day. \nBring water\, snack and $$ for food. \nContact: Vicky Ma 510 813-6690 mobile/text or creativesource@outlook.com
