SUMMARY:Windsor Chili Cook Off Ride
DESCRIPTION:rolling terrain /10-12 mph/35 miles with an option/elevation 1\,325 ft\nWe had so much fun last year\, we are going to do it again. \nJoin me for the 12th Annual Windsor Chili Cook Off including local entertainment\, wine\, craft beer and of course CHILI. The admission ticket is $20.00. The hours are from 12-4:00 pm. Register online at http://www.windsorchamber.com/chili-cook-off/ \nLet’s ride first. \nMeet 9:00 am at the front entrance of the WorldMark in Windsor 1251 Shiloh Road Windsor CA 95492. We will travel through miles of vineyards along Starr Rd\, East & Westside Rd & W Dry Creek Rd\, with scenic stops along the way. Dry Creek Rd will take us through the town of Healdsburg on the way back to the chili cook off.  \nIf you DO NOT want to ride and want to go for the chili event\, meet 1:30 pm at the event entrance. If you want a more relaxed experience\, you can catch the SMART Train from Larkspur. The new Windsor Train Station is now open and within walking distance to the event. SUMMARY:Montclair-Redwood Rd-Canyon Loop
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday September 13\, 2025\nElevation 2500 ft climbing; average speed around 10 mph\, approx 26 miles.\n Meet at 11:00 am. Start and end at Alameda Shaka Shack (close to Fruitvale BART). We will climb gently up to Montclair\, then do the more difficult but nice climb up to Skyline via the Burdeck/Butters route.  Then we will go down Redwood Road\, over Pinehurst through the redwoods of Canyon and the climb back up to Skyline\, then all downhill via Shepard Canyon\, Park Blvd and 16th back to Alameda.  All scenic back roads worth all of the climbing. \nThe ride will be canceled if the chance of rain is 30% or more. \nRide Leader: Steven Yoder   510-394-8684 or by email: steve@zlcsoftware.comBring a helmet\, carry a nutritional bar\, two bottles of water and $ for food. \n

DESCRIPTION:hills & flats/10 mph/38 miles/elevation 2\,384 ft\nMeet 8:30 am in front of Headlands Brewing in Lafayette. Lots of street parking in the area. We’ll take Mt Diablo Blvd to Pleasant Hill Rd then do some climbing on Reliez Valley Rd with a nice downhill and rollers to Alhambra Valley Rd. The route will flatten out into Martinez for a break if needed. Onward to the scenic bike/pedestrian George Miller Trail into Port Costa. After a regroup\, we make our way back to downtown Martinez. Alhambra Avenue will lead us onto the Contra Costa Canal Trail then onto the Iron Horse Trail back to the start. \nPost beer\, food and music at the brewing company if interested. \nYou may sign the waiver ahead of time on cherrycitycyclists.com.
