DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, July 5th\nModerate hills in the ride: 950/1850 ft elevation\, 10-15 mph\, approx. 25/35 miles \nMeet in front of Shaka Shack (formerly Little House Café)\, 2300 Blanding Ave\, Alameda at 10:15AM and ride at 10:30AM. We head southbound along the ocean to Ano Nuevo where there will be a brief stop before turning around northbound\, stopping at the Pie Shop. From there\, we head to Gazo Creek Rd. A quiet scenic road with a short little 20 ft 14.5% pitch\, then a downhill that will take us back into Pescadero\, the Goat Farm for cheese and Arcangeli for their famed artichoke bread. Want more miles and hills? There will be a 15 mile option\, out and back to San Gregorio. We’ll start by riding down Dublin Blvd and going through an interesting bike and pedestrian Alamo Canal Trail as we go through Pleasanton and Livermore. DESCRIPTION:Saturday July 26\, 2025\n15-30 miles;  800 or 1500 feet climbing;  average speed around 10 mph (leisurely\, with frequent regroupings)\nThis is a route that includes two Out-And-Back scenic rides on great destination cycling rural roads\, each a moderate climb and a return-descent back to Castro Valley. This means you can turn around any time if needed and have an easy return to the start.  We do Palomares Road up to where it gets steep then turn around and return\, then do Cull Canyon up and back.  The climbs break down as (approx): \n\nPalomares Road        7 miles     750 feet\nCull Canyon              7 miles     750 feet\n\nIf you only do Palomares\, it will be 15 miles; if also Cull Canyon then 30 miles. \nStart and end at Castro Valley BART.  Meet at 11:00 in front of the main entrance.  Bring water\, bars\, $$ for optional coffee/food stop at the end.  \nThe ride will be canceled if the chance of rain is 30% or more. \nRIDE LEADER:  Steven Yoder   (510) 394-8684    email: steve@zlcsoftware.com
