SUMMARY:Windsor Chili Cook Off Ride
DESCRIPTION:rolling terrain /10-12 mph/32 miles with an option/elevation 1\,386 ft\nJoin me on a very colorful day. A train ride\, a bike ride\, eats\, vendors and music. Meet 7:30 a.m. in front of Shigoto-Ya in Point Richmond. This will give us time to ride across the San Rafael Bridge\, use the restrooms at the Marin Country Mart\, perhaps grab a doughnut\, coffee\, then catch the 9:30 SMART train from Larkspur to Sonoma County Airport. If you’re 65+ the train ride will be free BUT you MUST bring your Clipper Card. Or… go https://www.sonomamarintrain.org/schedules-fares for ticket info. Once in Windsor\, we’ll cycle 13 miles thru the wine country before arriving at the Windsor Town Center for the Chili Cook Off Festival. The cost is $35 https://www.windsorchamber.com/chili-cook-off/. Read the details to see if there is day of tickets available. The hours are from 12-4:00 pm. We will leave in time to catch the 4:22 train back to Larkspur\, then ride back over the bridge to the start. \nBring a lock for your bike! \nOption: If prefer a later start and do not want to ride across the bridge\, you can drive over to the Larkspur SMART Train parking lot and meet at the train’s platform at 9:15 a.m. \nYou may sign the waiver ahead of time on cherrycitycyclists.com. SUMMARY:Tour of Lamorinda
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, September 21st\nStart in Orinda and ride some great cycling roads of the area.\n2800 ft\, approx 37 miles.\nMeet at 10:15 am at the Orinda Library (cafe) 2 blocks north of Orinda BART.  Best to arrive early\, so we’ll have time to sign our Ride Waiver form. Ride rolls at 10:30 am from Orinda.  We start with a fairly easy route to Lafayette\, and then do a more challenging route CCW around Briones reservoir — via Happy Valley and baby bears.  We start with an easy climb over to Moraga\, then mostly downhill to Lafayette\, then up and over Happy Valley and 3-Bears CCW (so just the baby bears back to Orinda).  Those who wish to can ride up Wildcat (closed to cars) to Inspiration Point and back down.  Mostly very scenic country roads and trails. \nThe ride will be canceled if there 90 plus degree weather or a 30% or greater chance of rain for Saturday.
