DESCRIPTION:Ride Canceled due to Air Quality Issues\nLoading PurpleAir Widget…\n \nSunday September 5\, 2021\n21-33 miles;  1500 or 2100 feet climbing;  average speed around 10 mph (leisurely\, with frequent regroupings)\nThis is a route that includes three Out-And-Back scenic rides on great destination cycling rural roads\, each a moderate climb and a return-descent back to Castro Valley.  We do Palomares Road up to where it gets steep then turn around and return\, then do Cull Canyon up and back\, then Norris Canyon to the top and back.  The three climbs break down as (approx): \nPalomares Road        7 miles     750 feet \nCull Canyon             3.5miles    700 feet \nNorris Canyon          6 miles     700 feet \nIf you only do Palomares\, it will be 14 miles; if also Cull then 21 miles; if all three then 33 miles. \nStart and end at Castro Valley BART.  Meet at 11:00 in front of the main entrance.  Bring water\, bars\, $$ for optional coffee/food stops. \nRIDE LEADER:  Steven Yoder   (510) 394-8684    email: steve@zlcsoftware.com

SUMMARY:Take BART to San Francisco Ferry Bldg to Tiburon
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, Sept 11th\nSomewhat Hilly with flats ride: 2612 ft elevation\, 10-15 mph\, approx 46 miles\nLet’s take BART and meet at 9:50 am at the back pier entrance to Slanted Door of the San Francisco Ferry Building. By arriving at 9:50 am\, so we’ll have time to sign our Ride Waiver form. \nRide rolls at 10:15 am The ride is approximately 46 miles includes a climb up Conzelman Rd into the Marin Headlands. We can decide as a group to climb up Conzelman Rd or go straight down to Sausalito. Another option that would shorten the ride is to take the ferry back from Tiburon to get back to the SF ferry building. There are a couple of climbs getting to the Golden Gate Bridge and another one climbing out of Sausalito in returning to San Francisco. The route is lovely with awesome views especially at the top of Conzelman and the downhill is sweet. Regroups along the way\, a perfect place to enjoy the views while logging in miles. We will be returning by riding through the presidio\, to Golden Gate Park\, through the Haight district to the Civic Center BART. \nThis is a RSVP event text me at 510-788-0597 by Friday 8pm. \nBring water\, snack\, money for BART and food. Rain Cancels. The ride will be canceled if there 90 plus degree weather or a 30% or greater chance of rain for Saturday. Check Friday evening from Weather Underground .
