A fairly easy ride through some of SF’s famous or interesting neighborhoods in the Southern half\, including GG Park\, Great Highway\, Zoo\, Lake Merced\, SFSU campus\, Stonestown Galleria (food stop)\, West Portal\, Twin Peaks\, Dogpatch\, Mission Bay and Chase Center.  This is a meandering\, sightseeing ride; and while we will encounter urban traffic in some spots\, it is mostly cycling-friendly. Start and end at the Ferry Building (Embarcadero BART).  Bring mobile phone\, nutrition bars\, water\, and money for a food stop – and be prepared for some possibly windy and foggy segments. \nThe ride will be canceled if there is a 30% or greater chance of rain for Saturday. SUMMARY:Excursion via the SMART Train to Windsor
DESCRIPTION:moderate terrain/8-12 mph/approx 42 miles/elevation 1\,518 ft\nWe’ll be boarding the SMART and taking it to the end of line in Windsor near the Sonoma Airport. From there\, we will ride through parts of the Alexander Valley wine country into Healdsburg for coffee & pastries at the Quail and Condor. The route will continue through the backroads of the wine country as we make our way to The Barlow in Sebastopol. After a food stop\, the journey takes us onto the Santa Rosa Creek trail to Railroad Square in Santa Rosa where we’ll board the train back to the start. \nThis is an ALL DAY excursion with a late return and not for everyone. We are catching the 6:21 pm on the return from Santa Rosa. The previous train at 4:11 is doubtful. \nMeet 9:00 a.m. at the Larkspur SMART Train platform. Please be there on time\, the train leaves at 9:30 and waits for no one. If you’re 65+ the ride is FREE but you’ll need your Clipper Card to board. The route starts out flat on the Iron Horse Trail and returns on flats along Alcosta Blvd. A gradual pastoral grade into the Las Trampas Wilderness Regional Park is in the middle of the route.  \nTaking BART?  \nGet off at the end of the Pleasanton Dublin Bart line. DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, December 7th\nModerate hills in the ride: 950/1850 ft elevation\, 10-15 mph\, approx. 25/35 miles \nMeet in front of Shaka Shack (formerly Little House Café)\, 2300 Blanding Ave\, Alameda at 10:15AM and ride at 10:30AM. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, November 30th\nFlat ride: 497 ft elevation\, 10-15 mph\, approx. 38 miles \nThis is a RSVP event text me at 510-788-0597 by Friday 8pm.\nMeet in front of Shaka Shack (formerly Little House Café)\, 2300 Blanding Ave\, Alameda at 9:50 AM and ride at 10:00 AM. Parking is available on Blanding and Clement Ave. We are going to ride through Alameda and use the Water Shuttle to get to Jack London Square to continue our ride to Point Richmond and have lunch at Little Louie’s Café\, located at 49 Washington Ave\, Richmond. Elevation Gain of 497ft so it is definitely a flat ride. We’ll be riding near BART at West Oakland if you interested in riding but not as far.
