This will be a 18 mile route which includes Happy Valley Rd on the return\, elevation 625 ft. \nLaura’s Castro Valley group will rendezvous with Vicky Ma’s group at Lucky’s. We will travel together along Foothill Rd to the Sunol Corner Market. \nTo show our appreciation\, if you were a 2025 BOB Double Century volunteer (which included free club membership) you will receive one FREE tamale from the Sunol Corner Market. DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, March 14th\nFerry Building to Marin Headlands to Twin Peaks\nApprox 37 miles\, 2900 ft.\nLet’s take BART and meet at 10:20 am at the pier behind NE corner of the San Francisco Ferry Building. You may sign the waiver ahead of time on cherrycitycyclists.com. Here is Ride Waiver Form link. \nRide rolls at 10:30 am This ride will take us to the very best views overlooking downtown San Francisco – so bring your best cameras and we will get some memorable photos. The route will go along Embarcadero and through the Marina District\, then across the GGB and up Cozumel to Hawk Hill Vista Point.  Then there is a great descent\, and we loop back across the GGB\, then west and south along the ocean\, then east on Taraval and up to Twin Peaks.  We will return straight to the top of Market Street and down to Civic Center BART.  There are climbs up Marin Headlands and up Twin Peaks; the rest is relatively easy.  There will be lots of regroups; this is an enjoyable/touring ride.  \nHere is a link to the ride-map on RIDE WITH GPS.  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54117294   If you are a CCC member you can download this map to the phone APP and utilize the turn-by-turn instructions. \n \nBring water\, snack\, money for BART and food stop along Taraval. Join me for a nice flat casual Saturday ride. We’ll cycle clockwise from Newark to Milpitas with 2 stops: 1 Oz Coffee in Santa Clara and Baylands Golf Links along the trail for lunch. The Baylands Trail is dominantly on packed gravel. Doable on a road bike but even better with a gravel & mountain bike. We will cycle thru a marshland nature preserve\, popular for bird watching and a multi-use path. SUMMARY:Skyline Loop
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, February 7th\nClimb up to Skyline to enjoy the panoramic bay views and return along the Bay Trail.\n2500 ft climbing; approx 40 miles.\nMeet at 10:15 am at Shaka Shack in Alameda – by the Park Street bridge\, close to Fruitvale BART.  Best to arrive early\, so we’ll have time to sign our Ride Waiver form. Ride rolls at 10:30 am.  We start with flat then gentle inclines\, increasing the difficulty as we go to Montclair then up Burdick/Butters as one of the better ways to get up to Skyline.  Then rollers heading North until we get to Sibley water stop and Grizzly Peak Blvd.  More views and a last climb up and over Grizzly Peak.  Then lots of descending through the hills and down the foodie avenue of Solano.  Then along the bay trails and Emeryville\, where we can do a food stop.  Finally we ride through the Port of Oakland and over to Jack London Square – take the free ferry to Alameda\, back to the starting point. \nCCC members can go to https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53850917 for the route map and to download onto your phone (or devices) for turn-by-turn audio navigation. \nThe ride will be canceled if there is 90 plus degree weather or a 30% or greater chance of rain for Saturday. SUMMARY:A Taste of the Wine Country Via SMART Train
DESCRIPTION:Moderate terrain/8-12 mph/approx 35 miles/elevation 1\,630 ft\nIf you want a taste of what it is like riding through the wine country\, follow me and ride the SMART Train to Windsor. On this excursion\, you’ll ride rolling terrains of vineyards and see early blooms in the beautiful Alexander Valley. Perhaps\, this will tempt you into coming back for more.  \nTo do this\, you will need a Clipper to board the train. As of 1/13/26 the rides on the SMART (anywhere) for seniors is still FREE. \nhttps://www.sonomamarintrain.org/ \n Meet 9:00 am at Johny’s Doughnuts at the Marin Country Mart. If you plan to indulge in an artisan donut arrive earlier. You can also eat it on the train. There are also clean restrooms on the train. \nWe will leave promptly at 9:15 to board SMART at 9:30. We are boarding at the beginning of the line and disembarking at the end of the line which is now the Windsor Station. DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, December 27th\nFerry Building to Sausalito/Tiburon.  Approx 20 or 40/45 miles\, 2500 ft.\nLet’s take BART and meet at 10:20 am at the pier behind the Slanted Door of the San Francisco Ferry Building. Here is Ride Waiver Form link. \nRide rolls at 10:30 am The ride will go through Chinatown and North Beach\, then through Marina Dist and across the GGB to Sausalito (where the weather should be nicer than the rest of the bay area).  We can decide whether to proceed on to Tiburon and eat there.  And then we can decide whether to take the Paradise loop on the way back.   There are moderate climbs along a mostly flat route.  There are a couple of climbs getting to the Golden Gate Bridge and another one climbing out of Sausalito in returning to San Francisco. The route is lovely with awesome views/neighborhoods. Lots of regroups; this is a pleasurable/touring ride. We will be returning by riding through the presidio to Golden Gate Park\, through the Haight-Asbury and Hayes Valley districts to the Civic Center BART. \nBring water\, snack\, money for BART and food stop in Sausalito or Tiburon. DESCRIPTION:Mostly flat with slight elevations/10-14 mph/62 miles/elevation 1\,500 ft\nThis ride has been cancelled due to rain and rescheduled for November 1. \nMeet 8:00 am at 409 20th St.\, Sacramento near E Street. Join me on the American River Trail. This is a car free paved multi-use road for cyclists & pedestrians and stretches from Old Town Sacramento to Folsom. We will access the trail near the Blue Diamond Nut Facility\, ride thru the Sacramento Northern Bikeway arch to Folsom. The route will continue on the Johnny Cash Trail back into Folsom and return to the start. Lots of regroups and a lunch break in Folsom. \nYou may sign the waiver ahead of time on cherrycitycyclists.com. DESCRIPTION:Easy/8-12 mph/30 miles/elevation 151\nJoin me for a relaxed casual ride starting from 21st Amendment Brewery. This will likely be the last club ride at the brewery before it closes its doors early November. The community will miss the beer and we will also miss starting rides from this location. \nMeet 10:00 am. We’ll head to the Martin Luther Shoreline\, wiggle through Alameda on roads commonly used but also on streets and paths less traveled. The return route is on the west side of Doolittle on Ron Cowan and the Oyster Bay Trail back to the start. \nGuests are welcome. Post ride social at 21st is around 2:00 pm. DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, October 11th\nModerate hills in the ride: 950/1850 ft elevation\, 10-15 mph\, approx. 25/35 miles \nMeet in front of Shaka Shack (formerly Little House Café)\, 2300 Blanding Ave\, Alameda at 10:15AM and ride at 10:30AM. It celebrates challenging rides across various terrains in California.
