Windsor Chili Cook Off Ride
September 7 @ 7:30 am
rolling terrain /10-12 mph/32 miles with an option/elevation 1,386 ft
Join me on a very colorful day. A train ride, a bike ride, eats, vendors and music. Meet 7:30 a.m. in front of Shigoto-Ya in Point Richmond. This will give us time to ride across the San Rafael Bridge, use the restrooms at the Marin Country Mart, perhaps grab a doughnut, coffee, then catch the 9:30 SMART train from Larkspur to Sonoma County Airport. If you’re 65+ the train ride will be free BUT you MUST bring your Clipper Card. Or… go https://www.sonomamarintrain.org/schedules-fares for ticket info. Once in Windsor, we’ll cycle 13 miles thru the wine country before arriving at the Windsor Town Center for the Chili Cook Off Festival. The cost is $35 https://www.windsorchamber.com/chili-cook-off/. Read the details to see if there is day of tickets available. The hours are from 12-4:00 pm. We will leave in time to catch the 4:22 train back to Larkspur, then ride back over the bridge to the start.
Bring a lock for your bike!
Option: If prefer a later start and do not want to ride across the bridge, you can drive over to the Larkspur SMART Train parking lot and meet at the train’s platform at 9:15 a.m.
You may sign the waiver ahead of time on cherrycitycyclists.com. From the menu under “Rides”, “Ride Waiver Form”.
Be sure to plug in the correct date.
Bring water, snack and money for food.
