Approx 26 miles; 1150 feet climbing; average speed around 10 mph (leisurely)
This is a route that goes around SF counterclockwise, through lots of interesting neighborhoods and areas. We do not do any big climbs, except an option to go up Twin Peaks. We will go up Market Street and the wiggle, then descend through Golden Gate Park, then down the Great Highway (no cars), around Lake Merced, through the SFSU campus to Stonetown, where there are many eateries. Then up to West Portal, and up past Laguna Honda to the Twin Peaks (optional), then Noe Valley and 24th Street, down to the Bay Trail back to the Ferry Building; lots of regroupings and rest stops.
Start and end at the Ferry Building. Meet at 10:30 at the back of the Slanted Door restaurant. Bring water, bars, $$ for coffee/food stops, and lots of layers to handle possible wind, fog and sunny warmth.
