Approx 30 miles; 2700 feet climbing; average speed around 10 mph (leisurely)
This is a route that goes around SF counterclockwise, through lots of new and historic neighborhoods and exceptional views. We will go through Embarcadero, North Beach, Marina, by the GGBridge, Seacliff, Land’s End, Great Highway, the Zoo, Lake Merced, then a food stop at the West Portal neighborhood. Then up to the great views of Twin Peaks, and back down East through the Mission to 3rd St/Mission Bay, and back to Embarcadero/Ferry Building. Mostly bike friendly roads and only moderate climbs (except for Twin Peaks?); lots of regroupings and rest stops.
Start and end at the Ferry Building. Meet at 10:30 at the back of the Slanted Door restaurant. Bring water, bars, $$ for coffee/food stops, and lots of layers to handle possible wind, fog and sunny warmth.
